Getting started

Tanuki Vision opens into your video library. Add a source from Files, then browse and play the videos the app discovers.

Add Videos

  1. Open the Files tab.
  2. Tap + and choose a local folder, cloud service, or network folder.
  3. Select the folder that contains your videos. Supported videos appear in Home and Files after scanning.

Wi‑Fi Transfer

  1. Open Files → Wi‑Fi Transfer.
  2. Turn on the transfer server and open the displayed address on a computer connected to the same Wi‑Fi.
  3. Keep Tanuki Vision running until the video upload completes.

USB Transfer

  1. Connect your iPhone to the computer with a USB cable.
  2. On Mac, open Finder and select your iPhone. On Windows, open Apple Devices or iTunes.
  3. Open Tanuki Vision under File Sharing.
  4. Copy video files into the Videos folder (On My iPhone / Tanuki Vision / Videos).
  5. Disconnect and return to Tanuki Vision. The Videos folder is scanned automatically.

Enable Cloud in Files

  1. Install the Microsoft OneDrive app from the App Store and sign in.
  2. Open the Files app and tap Browse at the bottom.
  3. Tap … (More) in the top-right corner, then tap Edit.
  4. Turn on the cloud service you want. Tap the checkmark when finished.
  5. The enabled service now appears under Locations in Files.

The system folder picker can read providers enabled in Files. Tanuki Vision also supports direct OAuth connections for OneDrive.

OneDrive

  1. In Tanuki Vision, open Files.
  2. Tap +, then choose OneDrive.
  3. Complete the provider sign-in and select a video folder.
  4. Connected accounts and folders appear under the matching provider.

Cloud connections, local folders, iCloud Drive, and NAS sources do not require Membership.

Cloud & Network Folders

  1. Open Files, tap +, then choose iCloud Drive, WebDAV, SMB, or another supported source.
  2. Choose a video folder or enter the server connection details.
  3. Manage connected folders later from Files.

Metadata & Artwork

Online matching for titles, descriptions, and artwork uses TMDB and is managed in Settings → Metadata. Metadata matching does not require Membership.

iCloud Sync & Handoff

iCloud Sync is controlled in Settings → Privacy. Playback Handoff is controlled in Settings → Playback. Neither requires Membership.

Membership

The current free allowance starts at 2 hours in the first active playback week, grows by 1 hour for each later active week, and caps at 6 hours per week. Skipped weeks do not earn growth, and devices using the same AppTransaction identity share one allowance. Tanuki Vision Membership provides unlimited playback while the StoreKit entitlement is active. Choose an available monthly, yearly, or lifetime option from the Membership card in Settings.
